Submersible Pump Systems

We also take pride in installing submersible pump systems for our customer’s newly drilled wells. Submersible pumps are submersed in the well water that is to be pumped. Submersible pumps use a push action to make the fluid (water) surface at higher elevations. Older systems used jet or piston pumps, but submersible pumps are more efficient and customers find that they are happier with the pressure from these units. Submersible pumps are not only known for their efficiency but also for their reliable role in getting water to our homes for numerous years! These pumps typically last 20 – 25 years, without servicing.

In modern installations the submersible pump is connected to a pitless adapter that allows the connection of the horizontal pipe that is down the well to the pipes to be installed beneath the ground surface over to the home. To avoid freezing we try to lay these pipes 4.5 to 5 feet below the ground. If there is bedrock or other obstructions, heatline may be required.

These pumps do not run consistently but are rather run intermittent when required. The water flows up the pipes into the home into a cold water pressure tank or storage tank. The pressure in the tank that is regulated with air is what moves the water from the tank to the household. This tank is controlled by a pressure switch which will stop & start the pump at a low pressure cut on & a high pressure cut off. When the water is used in the home & the pressure decreases in the tank it hits its low pressure & the pump will turn on. When the tank is full & at high pressure the pump will turn off.
